How Do You Treat Thin Crepey Skin?

Is there an alternative to microdermabrasion? Yes, it’s called micro needling facial. What is micro needling? It’s a process where tiny needles are gently rolled over the skin to breakdown old damaged collagen and help stimulate new collagen production. This helps to reduce scars and wrinkles. And, it’s cheaper than microdermabrasion sessions and can be done in your own home. A micro needling treatment is hassle-free, improves the appearance of your skin, and is much cheaper than spending hundreds of dollars at clinics and salons. I’ve been using mine for almost 2 years and am very happy with the results, especially for those pesky eye wrinkles. That was my area of concern since my late twenties. I use it about 4 times a week – right before bedtime. Then I apply my organic vitamin C serum all my face and let it soak in while the pores are still open….however, you can apply any favorite cream after rolling. This is a great time to do so because one of the side benefits of micro needling, is an increased absorption of your favorite anti-aging cream. In fact, some studies show up to an 87% increase. Night time is best time to do this because your skin goes into a repair mode while you sleep. Microdermabrasion helps to improve the look of your skin by deeply exfoliating the upper layers – exposing fresher newer skin underneath. However, while this may make your wrinkles, lines, and scars less visible, it does nothing to help fill them in. Skin wrinkles,deep lines, and scars all have one thing in common – lack of collagen. Collagen and elastin is essential for strong smooth skin. This is what makes micro-needling so effective and
exciting. Each rolling session literally stimulates collagen production in the areas that were treated……so your body begins laying down collagen in the filling in wrinkles, pitted skin, and scars. Over time, you slowly get a smooth, tight complexion. The only down side to micro needling – when compared to any plastic/cosmetic procedures - is that it takes longer to see results because it’s not as aggressive as say professional microdermabrasion, chemical peels, or laser resurfacing. But it’s something you can do in your own home for the rest of your life to keep your skin young and looking great. |
